Sandrine Revel (born 3 October 1969) is a French bande dessinée illustrator and author of comics.
Biography
Born in Langon, Gironde, 3 October 1969,[1][2] Sandrine Revel spent three years at the Template:Ill and graduated.[2]
In 1996, she published her first album, Jouvence La Bordelaise,[2] based on a script by Frédéric Bouchet and, at the same time, she drew for Sud Ouest Dimanche and Milan Presse.[2]
In 1999, based on a script by Template:Ill, Revel drew the children's comic strip, Template:Lang.[3] The album earned her the Prix jeune espoir at Template:Ill in 2000,[4] and, in 2001, the second volume, Template:Lang, won the Prix Alph-Art jeunesse at the Angoulême International Comics Festival.[5]
The following year, she published Template:Lang, a testimony of the September 11 attacks in 2001.[6] She joined forces with Template:Ill, who wrote the script for her for Template:Lang, published in 2009. The following year, she wrote a series, Template:Lang (Resurgences, Women on the Way to Resocialization)[7] as well as Template:Lang, a parodic story.[8] Based on a script by Marzena Sowa, Revel drew Template:Lang, published in 2012, about Poland in the Stalin era.[9]
Inspired by the performance of Template:Ill, Revel designed in 2013 Template:Lang, on a script by Murielle Magellan.[10] In 2015, Revel illustrated the children's book Template:Lang written by Template:Ill, and published by Template:Ill. The book evokes female homosexuality and LGBT parenting through June's "two moms".[11][12] The same year, a biography on Glenn Gould was published, Template:Lang, which Revel wrote and illustrated.[13] This work earned her the Template:Ill in 2016.[14]
In 2018, she wrote and drew Pygmalion.[15] Three years later, she delivered a biography of Tom Thomson, Template:Lang.[16] In 2020, on a script by Template:Ill, Revel drew Template:Lang.[17]
In 2022, together with Théa Rojzman, Revel won the high school prize at the Angoulême International Comics Festival for the graphic novel Template:Lang,[18] on the theme of sexual violence against children.[19]
