The press release says the program was to air March 8. There is a date stamp on the back for 2 March 1961, and the shoe did air on CBS-TV on 8 March 1961.
U.S. Steel, who was the sponsor of the U.S. Steel Hour. In the 1950s and 1960s, it was not unusual for a network, studio, or sponsor to use an advertising agency or a public relations agency to distribute publicity material. U.S. Steel chose the firm of Advance Public Relations, Inc. to distribute these photos and press releases.
