CartoonWiki:Comic tip of the day
The free encyclopedia of cartoons, comics, and animation.
More actions
An auto-rotating comic tip of the day, built on Template:Rotation spotlight — same mechanism as CartoonWiki:Cartoonist rotations, just a single daily pool instead of four. No bot or manual "today's tip" edit needed once a few candidates exist.
How it works
The pool is a set of numbered subpages: CartoonWiki:Comic tip of the day/1, /2, and so on. Template:Rotation spotlight picks one deterministically from the current day of the year (mod however many subpages exist), so the same day always shows the same tip until the pool grows.
Adding a tip
- Pick the next unused number (currently just
/1exists). - Create
CartoonWiki:Comic tip of the day/Nwith a single short line of advice — no template needed, plain text is enough (see CartoonWiki:Comic tip of the day/1 for the format). - That's it — the rotation picks it up automatically once it exists.
Where it's shown
