Publication history

She first appeared in Mister Miracle #6 (February 1972) and was created by Jack Kirby.[1]

Fictional character biography

Bernadeth is the co-leader of the Female Furies and the sister of Darkseid's servant DeSaad.[2] [3][4] She is killed by Lashina, who is in turn killed by Darkseid before he resurrects them both.[5] Lashina later appears as a member of the Dark Side Club.[6]

In The New 52, Darkseid's daughter Grail enslaves him, leading Big Barda and the Furies to work together to rescue him.[7] In DC Rebirth, the Furies witness the birth of Barda and Mister Miracle's son Jacob and meet with the two and Lightray to discuss a potential peace treaty between Apokolips and New Genesis.[8]

Powers and abilities

As a New God, Bernadeth is nigh-immortal and possesses superhuman physical abilities.[9] She is a skilled combatant and wields the Fahren-Knife, a fiery dagger made from Darkseid's skin.
